Donald J. Moore

Donald J. Moore is the director of events management at Fort Valley State University. In this role, he is  responsible for administrating and overseeing the day to day operation of many activities on FVSU’s campus. This includes working to maximize the experience, safety, and comfort of event attendees. Mr.Moore coordinates facilities rentals, event planning and budgeting, in addition to interpreting legislation higher education governance documents to determine their impact on university events. He also organizes and supervises the work of event staff workers with regards to catering, decoration, and setup for events.

Mr. Moore understands the land-grant university system and higher education environment and their relationship to the university community. He demonstrated his ability to effectively evaluate situations and make appropriate business decisions in his prior role as director of Business and Finance at FVSU. He also served as director of the Admissions and Recruitment Office, helping to attract and enroll talented students at the university.

Prior to joining Fort Valley State University, Mr. Moore served in a number of roles at Florida A&M University, including interim assistant director of Student Affairs and coordinator of student services for the School of Allied Health, where he managed compliance issues.

Moore earned a Bachelor of Science in business management with a minor in marketing and a Master of Science degree in guidance and career counseling from Florida A&M University.
