Environmental Health and Safety

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) provides guidance to facilitate a safe environment for students, employees, faculty, and staff, as well as others visiting our facilities. EHS works diligently to help ensure FVSU is compliance with federal, state, and local codes and regulations and ordinances. Through these efforts, we will be able to:

  • Minimize the risk of accidents and injury and, when one is reported, promptly investigate it and work with the necessary internal and external stakeholders to resolve the issue
  • Manage the campus transportation process to ensure that our vehicles are properly inspected and maintained, and that they are utilized by campus constituents in a clearly-articulated fashion
  • Review the insurance coverages that we have on university property and make sure they remain in force and up-to-date
  • Routinely monitor the campus, and work to remediate any environmental concerns detrimental to the well-being of the campus community

In order to meet these goals, EHS personnel  engage in the development and implementation of environmental and occupational health and safety policies, and procedures, the monitoring of the usage of chemicals and other hazardous materials on campus, and the training of the campus community on how to operate in a safe manner.
