Bereavement Announcements

Fort Valley State University has a tradition of fostering a family-like atmosphere among students, faculty, and staff. Whenever a death occurs among faculty, staff, students or retirees of FVSU, general procedures outlined in the Death Among  Members of the FVSU Community.

Marketing and Communications will communicate bereavement notices of FVSU alumni and immediate family* members of faculty and staff to the Wildcat family using the following guidelines.

• All requests for posting announcements are subject to verification.
• Announcements must be submitted to the Office of Marketing and Communications at least 48 hours prior to the memorial date.

* Immediate family is defined as spouse, parents and grandparents, children and grandchildren, brothers and sisters, mother-in-law and father-in-law, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, daughters-in-law and sons-in-law. Adopted and step members are also considered immediate family.

Bereavement Announcement Request
