Don McCarthy is the associate director/senior research associate for the Office of Institutional Research Planning & Effectiveness at Fort Valley State University. McCarthy manages a number of areas, including Compliance Assist, which houses assessment plans, comprehensive program reviews, SACSCOC reports, credentials reports and institutional effectiveness. He also has experience as a SACSCOC liaison, with Argos programming, and works on data management and other projects.
McCarthy has over 10 years experience in Corporate America and over 15 years experience as a higher education administrator. He is currently Region I vice president for the Morehouse College National Alumni Association (MCNAA), past chapter president, MCNAA (Columbus), and a past polemarch for Kappa Alpha Psi Inc. He played college football at Morehouse College and has been an athletics/organizations supporter since 1989. He was past president of the National Pan-Hellenic Council. Currently he also serves as associate district deputy grand master, Jurisdiction of Georgia, and Executive Director of the Tuskegee-Morehouse Football Classic.
Mr. McCarthy lives in Columbus, Ga and earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Morehouse College, Georgia Institute of Technology, Troy State University and Troy University. He is currently completing a dual doctorate in higher education leadership and research from Nova Southeastern University.
