Kimberly N. Morris

Kimberly Morris is a proven financial aid leader who has the passion and commitment to move our financial aid office forward through innovation, collaboration and a focus on student satisfaction. She is a dynamic motivator who feels that if better is possible than good is not enough.

She currently serves as Director of Financial Aid at Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, GA. She began her financial aid career as a customer service agent at Georgia Student Finance Commission in 2000. Ms. Morris worked in this capacity for five years before transitioning to the registrar’s office. She returned to financial aid in 2011 when she joined Southern Crescent Technical College as the Director. In addition to her positions at Georgia Student Finance Commission and SCTC, Ms. Morris worked at Georgia Perimeter College, Clayton State University and Gordon State College.

Ms. Morris is very active in organizations within higher education. She served as president of the Georgia Association of Veteran Certifying Officials (GAVCO) from 2006-2010. She is an active member of the Georgia Association of Student Financial Aid Administration (GASFAA) where she serves as vice president of programs. Ms. Morris presents at conferences for GASFAA, GAVCO and the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators while she earned additional credentials through the National Association of Financial Aid Administrators. She served as the team lead for Financial Aid Directors for the Technical College System on Georgia. Ms. Morris also serves on the Financial Aid Advisory Committee for Georgia Student Finance Commission.

Outside of her dedication to financial aid, Ms. Morris takes time to help students. She served as an advisor for students at SCTC participating in Collegiate DECA. This allowed students to enhance their skills outside the classroom and become more marketable when entering the workforce. Ms. Morris understood early on in her career that good leadership is critical to the success of an institution. She participates in any opportunity she has to develop her leadership skills. She participated in the Executive Leadership Training Program (ELTP) for 2 ½ years that prepared her for future leadership opportunities within higher education.

Ms. Morris holds a baccalaureate degree in psychology and human services from Clayton State University and a graduate degree in post-secondary education from Troy University. She currently resides in Riverdale, GA with her teenage son, Jamel. Ms. Morris spends most of her free time supporting her son’s dreams and traveling.
