There are numerous options available to pay for your study abroad experience. Your financial aid (e.g. HOPE, Pell Grant, and f) can be used to offset the costs of studying abroad. Contact Ms. Kimberly Morris in the Financial Aid Office for more information.
In addition to financial aid, there are other options available to assist with offsetting the costs of studying abroad. Below is a list of external scholarship opportunities available for students desiring to study abroad. Be sure to comply with the eligibility requirements and guidelines. Programs during coming academic year; must be 4-weeks or longer

International Student- Travel Video Contest
Any program in the coming academic year-no length requirement

Rotary Scholar
Apply at least 1 year ahead of time through local Rotary chapter
Awards up to $30,000
National Society of Collegiate Scholars
Must be a member of NSCS
Boren Award
Programs in under-represented areas & languages
Programs must be at least 8 weeks long
Awards up to $20,000
Gilman Study Abroad Scholarship
Pell-eligible students only
Programs must be at least 4 weeks long
Maximum award is $5,000 / Average award is $4,000
Bridging Scholarship
Semester or year-long programs in Japan
Awards available from $2,500-$4,000
AASCU Scholarship for Study Abroad in China
Year-long programs in China
Awards of approximately $10,000 available (25 award recipients)
Freeman-ASIA
For U.S undergrad students with demonstrated Financial need to study in East or South East Asia
Are required to complete a survey and a service project
Awards of approximately up to $3,000 for summer, up to $5,000 for semester & up to $7,000 for Academic Year
DAAD Scholarship
Semester or year-long programs in Germany
Awards available from $3,000-$8,000 (monthly stipend)
IIPP Fellow Program (PDF)
For underrepresented groups only; apply as sophomore
Must major in a field related to International Studies

Critical Languages Scholarship
Fully funded intensive language programs managed by U.S. Dept. of State
